Keeps the battleborn batterys at 14.4. **Q: The manual says: "no temperature compensation when charging lithium battery". Why?** A: Lithium Batteries can be damaged if the temperature is too low (less than 32 degrees) when charging them. So you have to either have a heater (or a heat pad) to keep the batteries above temp, or you have to disconnect the charging circuit when the temperature is going to be below 32 degrees. That statement is just giving you a heads-up so that you are aware of the consequences that could occur **Q: Can i use this in an rv trailer by connecting the dc side to the output on the trailers converter, instead of an alternator?** A: Sure you can but won't get a large amount of amps (unless you have a higher amp inverter/Converter) to charge the system.. I have a 200 watt solar array connected to the solar input as well as the vehicle smart alternator input. The (2) 100 Ah AGM batteries stay charged through this device to where I never have to plug in my trailer to the house to charge my batteries. What I like about this product is if itโ€™s cloudy and Iโ€™m using power then the vehicle will charge the batteries as Iโ€™m driving from job to job or I can start the truck for a few minutes and get a charge. This device also prevents voltage feeding back to the vehicle from my trailer batteries as it would if it were connected straight to the battery output from the truck. It also prevents overcharging of the batteries, extending the life. Lastly, the ability to change battery types on this device makes it great to use for different battery chemical types.
