I use freezer Ziplock bags but I'm sure they probably work better. **Q: How is it possible to have a battery-operated electronic lock that still works after being submerged 8 hours?** A: You would have to call the Honeywell Co. and ask them if the electronic lock would still work on the safe after being submerged in water. They give you a over-ride key that you can put in a lock on the front of the safe that you can open the safe at any time if the electronic lock doesn't work. I use it all the time and it works fine. **Q: adjustable shelves** A: It comes with 2 adjustable shelves. **Q: Is the door handle made of metal or plastic?** A: The handle has a plastic covering /jacket of some sort, but structurally it must be metal. Have had it for several months now and it remains solid, functions smoothly and without issue. I almost refused the shipment because of significant damage to the packaging, but decided to open it in the presence of the driver. There was a big gash in the carboard box where the handle was located and the original shipping pallet was destroyed; like someone made a mistake with a forklift along the way. I thought for sure the handle we be damage, but the safe was in perfect condition.
