## Description

The miniDSP UMIK-2 is a reference grade, calibrated, omni-directional USB measurement microphone. The UMIK-2 features a low-noise ½-inch microphone capsule, low-noise A/D convertor, and support for sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Each UMIK-2 has a unique calibration file for measurement accuracy. A generated 90-degree calibration file is also provided for multichannel/surround-sound applications. The UMIK-2 has driverless operation with macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. A supplied ASIO driver for Windows ensures simple integration into many measurement and recording applications. The UMIK-2 is of course fully compatible with Room EQ Wizard (REW) and Dirac Live (version 3 and later). Many other applications are also perfectly suited to the UMIK-2: Speaker measurement and design Room corrections Acoustical measurement and characterization. Review: A surprising improvement - Bought this mic to replace the mic that came with my EMotiva processor because I was getting some errors while trying to run the Dirac Live room correction, I would have gotten the regular UMIK mic but this one was available for faster shipping. The improvements over my EMotiva mic are huge! I usually have to make more corrections to the room correction results but with this mic the changes are minimal, the default results were actually really good as they were and sounds great but I still made just a few tweaks to the sub channels and the highs to give the end sound results a bit more sparkle and boom. This mic has great build quality but is a bit expensive and you might be ok with the regular UMIK1 and get the same results I believe. I am very impressed on how easy it is to use and integrate with my processor. I might get the mini DSP one day to EQ my subs if I think it’s worth it but for now the Dirac Live program has great results that I don’t think I can make much more improvements to.
Review: Works well with Mac. - Works great with my Mac Mini 4 and Dirac Live for a Marantz AV10. It did not work well with an Asus Windows PC. Not sure why.

**Q: What does this do that my $75.00 UMik-1 doesn't do?**
A: I'm not aware of the actual accuracy differences between the 2. However, if you are only interested in home use I don't think you'll achieve anything by upgrading.

**Q: How long is the USB cable that comes with it?**
A: The UMIK-2 comes with a 6' cable with a standard type USB-A connector for your computer and a USB-C connector into the microphone.

**Q: can it be used on denon receiver?**
A: It is meant to be used with an app like REW or Dirac, not a specific brand.

**Q: This only 195.00 from the manufacturer. How comes this is 249.00 here?**
A: With VAT being 1 percent of asking price and $20 shipping cost. It's close to the same price.
Buying from Amazon you'll receive it In a few days vrs ordering directly it may take a couple of weeks. The UMIK-1 is a better deal ordering it directly from the manufacturer.

Bought this mic to replace the mic that came with my EMotiva processor because I was getting some errors while trying to run the Dirac Live room correction, I would have gotten the regular UMIK mic but this one was available for faster shipping.
