I wear a large t-shirt, and this in a large fits perfectly over a short or long sleeve shirt. A sweatshirt might be a tad tight underneath, but would still be comfortable. This one has a hood, and it's just a weird hood-construction. Like, the hood is on the outside of the collar part, but it doesn't tuck into the collar, so it's just awkward feeling, and it's a bit of a small hood- which is GREAT for people who are biking or hiking- it would be a perfect fit, for you- but I was hoping the hood would be a little bigger/ spacious for my purposes. I just need it to cover more of my face, in the front at the top. But that's not too terribly bad. Overall, it is a great little backup jacket, for extra bright days, and I haven't had any rashes while wearing it, yet, AND I haven't had swelling from feeling hot while wearing it- it's really VERY lightweight, and is somewhat see through. It's not something you can expect to wear for any fashion purposes. It's not fashion forward, but it's good enough for people like me, who have chronic spontaneous urticaria, and people who may have mast cell activation disorders. It zips up, and has a pocket, again- just a weird construction, but whatever. It serves its purpose. I also like that it fits into this tiny little bag, so easily. The bag has a drawstring, which is also nice. I can tie it to my purse, and it doesn't feel bulkier or heavier. It's comforting to have a little spare (even if it's somewhat ugly and awkward) jacket for extra bright sunny days that actually has that high UPF factor.
