I have two of these units each running a lathe and milling machine. both are 3hp 3phase motors. they have worked without issue for about 6 months. I would buy this unit again if the need came about. Hope this helps ... **Q: Error 1 code. Electrician says there are no shorts. How do we troubleshoot this?** A: I had this same error. 2 electrician and I couldn't figure it out. Hahahaha I had to use the "run" button as the tools on switch and then ramp up the frequency with the dial. If you use my tools on switch it goes into protection every time. **Q: Is it possible to wire in a jog button?** A: After the drive has been programmed for the motor that it is running then in the control wiring there should be a jog control just like run for forward & run reverse **Q: Will this make the motor less powerful than if it was in a true phase 3 outlet?** A: Simple answer, yes. It can spin a lot faster as it goes up to 400Hz, but it trips security and shuts down if more than 3 Amps (3000mA) is drawn by any of the three motor coils. Not truly 12 Amps as advertised. It starts to go up in frequency slowly to avoid overload, but almost any load in the motor will trip security and my motor was only 1.5 hp, not 3 hp as advertised. I ended up doing a rotary phase config by using two motors and a capacitor and not using this. Keep in mind that my need was to convert 2-Phase 220v to 3-Phase 220v, which it is supposed to handle, but it may behave different if needed in a different configuration.
