I looked carefully on all sides of the product: There is NO MARK of COUNTRY of ORIGIN anyplace on the product! I would suspect China. I did, a week or so after my Amazon purchase, see the exact same product for sale in a large supermarket chain store (in the housewares section, obviously) for $3 more than what I paid for it at Amazon. **Q: is this dishwasher safe?** A: I put mine in the dishwasher and haven't had any rust problems. **Q: Does this come in a 5.5 or 6 inch size?** A: Look up the product and find out **Q: What is length of strainer. Invariably the weld gives way. This strainer has a solid metal handle bolted to the rim so should give years of use. Only complaint is that it was not well packaged (just put in a paper bag) and arrived with the mesh half caved in. I managed to push the mesh back into shape so it is nearly even.
