It also does provide a larger range of movement. **Q: Do you need a camera to use this? Or do you just strap it to your headset and you're good to go?** A: You need the ir camera from the manufacturer to use this item. It only fits on certain headsets so check with them before purchase. **Q: I have logitech g35 headset which does not have a thin band. Is there still a way to mount this clip?** A: Hi , I have the pro clip and my head set it 1 3/4 inches wide but when I extend the ear portion down the inner extension is 1 1/4 maybe a millimeter less if your extension when exposed is no bigger than that then it should fit as mine does Ill post pics for you **Q: What is the function of this piece of equipment???** A: It provides three powered IR light sources for the TrackIR receiver. TrackIR also comes with a three point reflector but sometimes it has a hard time picking up the reflections, especially if you are back lit. If you are unfamiliar with TrackIR, it is a device that allows head movements to control the viewpoint in many different computer simulations. Now that I have one, I can't imagine flying a simulator without it.
