Where did it go?** A: My unit does not have a button, it is always on, you cannot change the intensity of the light or turn it off. **Q: How many slides can it hold at one time?** A: It only gives you 20 scanned slides with a free membership. You need to sign up and pay to have more slides scanned. **Q: I already have a light box. How much is the software.?** A: There was no software purchase necessary to use this light pad. It’s simply just a light pad. If you’re asking about the apps to use for your pictures or negatives on the light pad, then yes, there are in-app purchases. I have used Photomyne, Film Box, Slide Scan and Remini. Each of these will give you a few freebies, but to effectively utilize the apps, you would need to make purchases. I hope this helps! Good luck! **Q: How do you adjust the intensity of the light and turn the device off and on? there is no button anywhere and touch in various places has no effect.** A: There is a button that is flush with the frame in the upper left corner close to the power inlet. It’s a touch sensitive button. Not one you push. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Relax, take your time. *by K***R on September 3, 2026* Like the restore functionality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy, slim, large and functional *by J***N on March 31, 2026* Exactly what I was looking for! Simple to operate, large enough to review many slides simultaneously, easy to store. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does its intended purpose *by H***Y on September 23, 2026* Update: Within a few hours after first comment, the item was delivered. It's light weight. Illumination is bright. I don't mind it uses a USB power cord, nor plugging/unplugging to turn on/off. It was purchased to view 150+ negatives from the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, which are larger than 35mm negatives, and are individual negatives, not in strips, as well as view 35/110/etc negatives. The light pad has thus far served the intended purpose -- viewing, which is 5 stars. As far as "scanning" negatives per advertised description, you have to purchase the app(s), and the results vary. Overall, the black and white negatives (photos) have turned out okay. Only a handful are excellent. Having the actual photo of some of the negatives and comparing to the "scan", the detail and/or sharpness is not there in the 'scan'. The 35mm color negative scans are not usable for photos. However, you can identify who/what the photo is. Using the light pad, app photo quality appears to be excellent if taken of a photo. I can take a photo of a photo using iPhone that is of same quality. I've gotten top quality photos of photos using phone with natural light throughout the room via windows.. With the app, you have to hold the phone and press the button for three seconds, which there will be some movement. The only plus I see with the app is it automatically crops the photo. Editing can be done in free apps. I use FastStone Image Viewer. Be aware, if app(s) is not purchased, the photo cannot be saved to phone or shared during the three-day trial period. Overall, negatives will be identified that I want prints of and sent off to have them done professionally. The light pad will be useful in tracing designs in making quilting stencils. Though, I've managed 30 years without a light pad/box. If it's just a few 35mm only negatives to view, the light pad is pricey, but far less expensive than the 35mm negative viewers. The app is not worth the yearly subscription, in my opinion. Perhaps, Photomyne should include a one-, three-, or six-month free full subscription to the app with purchase of the light pad, or make the subscription a one time fee, not yearly. It may intice more folks, such as myself, to purchase the app(s). If having to assign stars for the app(s), it would be three. 9/23 I have no idea if it meets my expectations. The item was to be delivered on Monday, 9/21, then Tuesday. It's Wednesday. Now, it's stating "Delivery date currently unavailable." According to tracking info, it was processed 20 miles away, not just once but twice! ## Frequently Bought Together - Photomyne A4 Slide Viewer | Light Pad Backlight | Negative Viewer | Film Negatives & Old Slides Scanning Light Box | Hands-Free Ultra-Thin Ultimate Brightness (Includes USB Adapter) - Black - PHOTOMYNE Sturdy Flexible Phone Holder for Desk, Table, Office, Kitchen with Clamp for Photo Album Scanning, iPhone Holder for Desk- Black - Photomyne Wireless Camera Shutter Clicker | Camera Shutter Remote Control for iPhone & Android Smartphones | Wireless Remote Control Selfie Button - Includes Wrist Strap (1 Pack) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/324544133-photomyne-a4-led-light-pad-for-slides-negatives-and-tracing](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/324544133-photomyne-a4-led-light-pad-for-slides-negatives-and-tracing) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
