A: It is 38cms, hope that will be alright for you as I think it is such a great item.

**Q: how much weight can it hold?**
A: It's a footstool !! Just put your feet up on it!!! Very sturdy,

**Q: What's the height of the stool when collapsed?**
A: 23 inches high by 16 inches wide hope that helps because a lovely stool.

**Q: What temperature on a machine wash?**
A: I have removed the cushion but there are no washing instructions! When I do wash it I will probably do it as a hand wash at a low temperature!
