## Description

An accessible and reassuring guide to childhood health and immunity from a pediatrician who's both knowledgeable about the latest scientific research and respectful of a family's risk factors, health history, and concerns In The Vaccine-Friendly Plan, Paul Thomas, M.D., presents his proven approach to building immunity: a new protocol that limits a child's exposure to aluminum, mercury, and other neurotoxins while building overall good health. Based on the results from his pediatric practice of more than eleven thousand children, as well as data from other credible and scientifically minded medical doctors, Dr. Paul's vaccine-friendly protocol gives readers - recommendations for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth - vital information about what to expect at every well child visit from birth through adolescence - a slower, evidence-based vaccine schedule that calls for only one aluminum-containing shot at a time - important questions to ask about your child's first few weeks, first years, and beyond - advice about how to talk to health care providers when you have concerns - the risks associated with opting out of vaccinations - a practical approach to common illnesses throughout the school years - simple tips and tricks for healthy eating and toxin-free living at any age The Vaccine-Friendly Plan presents a new standard for pediatric care, giving parents peace of mind in raising happy, healthy children. Praise for The Vaccine-Friendly Plan "Finally, a book about vaccines that respects parents! If you choose only one book to read on the topic, read The Vaccine-Friendly Plan . This impeccably researched, well-balanced book puts you in the driver's seat and empowers you to make conscientious vaccine decisions for your family." --Peggy O'Mara, editor and publisher, Mothering Magazine "Sure to appeal to readers of all kinds as a friendly, no-nonsense book that cuts through the rhetoric surrounding vaccines. It offers validation to those who avoid some or all, while offering those who do want to vaccinate help on how to do so safely. This is a great book for anyone with children in their lives." -- Natural Mother "A valuable, science-supported guide to optimizing your child's health while you navigate through complex choices in a toxic, challenging world." --Martha Herbert, M.D., Ph.D., Harvard Medical School "An impressively researched guide, this important book is essential reading for parents. With clear and practical advice for shielding children from harmful toxins, it will compel us all to think differently about how to protect health." --Jay Gordon, M.D., FAAP "Rather than a one-size-fits-all vaccine strategy, the authors suggest thoughtful, individualized decisions based on research and collaboration between parents and clinicians--a plan to optimize a child's immune system and minimize any risks." --Elizabeth Mumper, M.D., founder and CEO, The Rimland Center for Integrative Pediatrics "This well-written and thought-provoking book will encourage parents to think through decisions--such as food choices and the timing of vaccines--that affect the well-being of their children. In a world where children's immune systems are increasingly challenged, this is a timely addition to the literature." --Harriet Lerner, Ph.D., bestselling author of The Dance of Anger and The Mother Dance

Review: This book was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more! - I just finished reading this whole book, and I'd give it more than five stars if that were an option. As a mom of two young boys, I wish this book had been published when I was pregnant with my first son, because I would have done so much differently. It's not just another book on vaccines. While it has incredible information about vaccines and his take on childhood vaccine schedule in this country, it is so much more than a book about vaccinations. In fact, even if someone decides to fully vaccinate after reading this book (which would surprise me), they're still going to learn a ton to help their child (and themselves) lead a healthier life if they follow even an ounce of the advice Dr. Paul Thomas and Jennifer Margulis provide in this book. I originally wanted to read this because I wanted to hear more about vaccines. I don't blindly follow the CDC schedule. After much research, I evaluate each vaccine separately, delay some, and reject some all together, so I thought this book would provide me even further direction with that. And it didn't let me down! I had read The Vaccine Book, but this book was SO much more helpful since it's a comprehensive book that discusses individual vaccinations in depth, but also a child's immunity, health, well-being, and happiness. Every pediatrician and future pediatrician should read this. For example, it makes sense that Dr. Paul Thomas recommends getting your child's titers checked with a blood test before kindergarten instead of giving a second dose of the MMR vaccine. 98% of his patients showed immunity to measles when their blood was tested, so they didn't need a second dose. Why inject someone with more toxins when not needed, especially when a titer test showing immunity is accepted for school entry. If you're the type that likes to read the "What to Expect..." series books (What to Expect the First Year, Toddler Years, etc.), you'll find that this book includes everything you'd read in those books and more. The book has sections on everything from breastfeeding to infant milestones, ideas to help your child eat healthy, and the importance of play. And while I don't yet have teenagers, I love that he wrote a whole section on what doctors talk about with teenagers when their parents are out of the room. I'll definitely be referring to this book for many years to come! I also felt like I got to be a fly on the wall during pediatrician appointments. Pediatricians do so much more than I ever imagined, and I now have even more respect for anyone in that profession! After I started reading it, I bought two extra copies and gave them away to friends. I'll be buying a few more in the next several weeks and giving them away as well. It's an invaluable resource, an easy read, an enjoyable read, and I'll go so far as to say it's probably the most useful and important book I've bought in my life. Buy it and read it. You won't be disappointed!
Review: Important information for any new parent - A valuable source of truth and honesty about raising a healthy child in today's world. A must read book if you want to be able to make the best decisions about health care for your child. This book gives you the knowledge and facts so that you can make your own choices with confidence and know you're doing what is safest for your child. Dr. Paul is amazing and I'm so thankful for this book and what I've learned.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good guidance on vaccines, medicine, and other childraising advice
*by J***T on December 27, 2025*

I wish we'd discovered this book before we had our first child. It's been incredibly helpful. In summary, Dr. Paul presents an alternate vaccine schedule that spreads things out so that your child isn't being inundated with aluminum and other toxic chemicals in his or her first months of life. He also offers suggestions for vaccines that may be safe to skip depending on your risk factors. He always presents the pros and cons, offering guidance that you can tailor based on family medical history, international travel, etc. Besides vaccines, he also offers advice on OTC medicine, nursing, and the home environment. Again, I wished we'd seen this before we had our first child. I think we would have been better off if we hadn't said "yes" to everything, assuming that doctors wouldn't recommend something that could potentially be unsafe.
