My ears get really hot in the Apple ones** A: They are a little cooler than the stock cushions. I wear the airpods max headphones at least 3 or 4 hours a day and I find them cooler overall but not a big difference. They were definitely worth the money even if the cups just end up being the swap outs for when I want to clean the other cups. The pad portion of these cushions are a little slicker than the stock cup. The cutouts are for sound passthrough appear to all be the same, but after a few days of use, it was evident that there was something different in how the ambient sound (and active noise cancellation (ANC) to a lesser degree) were negatively impacted. For the ambient sound mode, the headphones would occasionally emit a high pitch squeal at low volume, and if anything pressed up against the headphones, then this squeal would get much louder — similar to microphone-speaker feedback. I purchased these because an Apple AirPods Max repair sent my AirPods back to me without the earpads, and it took a couple weeks (!), several emails, texts, and phone calls to resolve the issue with Apple. While I was waiting, I purchased these to hold me over, but the squealing got to be so annoying that I shelled out $69 for a new set of original Apple earpads.
