Instructions seem to be missing a step** A: No. You put a drop of blood from the capillary tube on to the spot in the red circle on the black side of the card only. When you turn the card over, the reverse side of the card will have changed to a shade of green which you match to the bar color to determine your test result. **Q: Does this kit measure ldl and hdl by % in the blood please?** A: No, it's a very basic test. To get your results you compare your test to a colour chart and that tells you approximately what your level is. **Q: Does it give an instant at home reading** A: Yes. It’s really good. I do these about every two months. Good price and handy to keep a check on. You do need to make sure you get enough blood in the little tube. It’s more than one drop. Make sure your hands are warm and clean before you use the lancet. Having made some changes to my diet I was basically looking for any change, which will be confirmed at my next blood test. For example my last result was 4.7 and I know its probably dropped slightly which is what I was looking.
