The Maxline tubing has an aluminum core sandwiched between an inner and outer layer of polyethylene. Tubing can be mounted on wall surfaces, in wall, or buried underground or concrete. Tubing holds any hand bent shape. Reduce shop clutter with this industrial compressed air piping system. No glue, soldering or crimping needed. Simply cut the tubing to length, insert in the fitting and tighten. Easy to expand with more air outlet locations or modify later. Review: Convenience and quality, well worth the price - I was a little suspicious when I initially ordered, but seemed like a better way to go than piecing together black pipe or rubber lines. Wasn't disappointed at all, stuffs awesome. The lines themselves are weirdly rigid while being easily formed to take turns or go around obstacles. I had one large 25 foot run behind conduits and other stuff on the wall I was worried about, simply cut the length I needed and pulled/pushed the line through in all of 2 minutes. The fittings are solid, machined aluminum with brass plugs and a drain spout. I'd rate the machining as consumer grade, there are areas where edges are milled down right beside edges that aren't. Mind the utility parts are great, threads are clean and there's no burrs or anything I needed to take care of ahead of time. Seems most people wind up with more line than fittings, which is smart for the company and easily solved by the consumer (I'll be it at a cost, the fittings are expensive). But the fittings it comes with are enough to get you started, and the quality and convenience of everything included makes up for having one less fitting than you'd want. Review: Challenging to install but well worth it - This is really a great solution for adding compressed air to a shop. It isn't the cheapest way to do it, but the end result is worth it (IMHO). It's a challenge to work with for sure (straightening it is pretty difficult, and long runs can be awkward to maneuver into place - get a helper to assist) but once it's installed it works great. I didn't buy a tubing straightener, just unrolled it and straightened it as well as I could against my belly. That worked well enough to get it installed. Once up, I tweaked out the waves with a couple of "persuaders" that I made from 2x4's The tubing is too stiff to tweak with your hands (my hands anyway) so you'll need some kind of leverage tool (see photo). You can easily bend the tubing 90 degrees (or more - it comes in a coil), which enables you to go around inside corners without the use of an elbow. Saves money and improves air flow. See photos. The fittings are top quality, appear to be nickel plated brass (the terminal blocks are aluminum). They are quite expensive to buy individually but the kit included enough for my installation, I didn't need to buy more. The cutting tool and reamer worked perfectly well, and also served for cutting and reaming PEX tubing in a subsequent job. BTW PEX may be just as good as this stuff for air lines, something to consider - it could be a cheaper solution. However this kit includes pretty much everything you need in one box - tubing, tools, mounting clips, drain valves, and various connectors and terminal blocks. So building a system in PEX might not save all that much in the end. The instructions are clear enough. They recommend both teflon tape and pipe dope on the threaded connections. I'm not sure why (I generally use teflon tape only) but I followed the instructions and the whole system is airtight. So I'm quite pleased. One caution in the instructions is not to pressurize the system too suddenly. Apparently this can weaken (fatigue) the tubing over time. I installed an electric ball valve which opens very slowly, seems ideal. What is the o.d.** A: The tubing in the 3/4 Maxline M7500 master kit is .80 inch inside diameter x 1.00 inch outside diameter **Q: I have 175 psi. The mfg recommends keeping the system at 175 psi and the regulating the pressure where needed. Will this stand up to that?** A: Yes, the system is rated for 200 psi. For any air system, its best to regulate the air system to 100-120 psi at the compressor, with an inline regulator. Most air tools have a maximum pressure rating of 120 psi and that protects them. **Q: Will standard pex-al-pex compression fittings work?** A: Yes they will work. This line IS pex-al-pex. I have used the fittings myself so I know it works. Also, the aluminum inner sheath is the giveaway that it's pex-al-pex. **Q: Is there 3 brass plugs included for the outlets** A: You'll need something to plug one hole for each of the outlets.
