Both are great sizes. The color is more of a light blue (see attached pictures) than the one shown on the Amazon product page. Knives glide over the surface, making the task at hand easier. I have not noticed any dulling of my knives. These do not show cutting marks on them. I enclosed a picture of an old cutting board of mine (dark gray) that showed every cut I ever made on it. It looked 100 years old the first week. The KitchenAid ones look brand new. I love the drip tray. I toss mine in the dishwasher, but these could just as easily be handwashed. I purchased one for a granddaughter and she loves hers too. You should put these on your "MUST HAVE" list for yourself and GIFT list for others.
