Bohin 91489 Chalk Pencil Refillable Cartridge Set

I really needed to find something that gave me a cleaner chalk sketch for my hand lettering and chalkboard signs. This was perfect because it gave me such a clean thin line. Much easier to accurately use with a ruler. It also meant easier to trace over it with a chalk marker and leaves less of the messy dust behind. Super handy for any chalk board design drafting.

Oh this tool is so handy! I use it to draft up chalk signage before going over with a marker and it writes so well and erases without scratches or ghosting. It's a true chalk consistency rather than a colored pencil which can be hard to erase. This works well on a lot of surfaces.I love how many extra refill pieces it comes with, plus the sharpener! It's great to be able to retract it and not worry about breakage. I've been previously using a mechanical pencil with smaller refill lead but that's so much more expensive and harder to come by. This is a great alternative!Would be ideal for any work with chalkboards at all! (restaurant/coffee menus, classrooms, event spaces, weddings, home decor...etc)

I like it! Comes with a little pencil sharpener that works well too - just have to be a lot more gentle than you would if sharpening a pencil! It does not leave a permanent mark, wipes off easily, and gives you a more precise line on your fabric than other chalk or marking options.

There were no instructions on how to get the item to work. I pushed in the bottom of it and I could see that chalk was already loaded, but for some reason, the chalk would not shimmy itself down the tube to be exposed in order to use the thing. It's supposed to be a chalk pen, I did everything, could not get that piece of chalk to come out the way it was intended to be used to no eval. I ended up having to return it. Note: I was required to return it to the company, and it takes 3-4 days in order to get your refund AFTER they receive it back. So buyer beware!! Had I known that ahead of time, I wouldn't have brought it from amazon. So let's hope I get my refund.

I was looking for a chalk pencil to mark Sashiko patterns on fabric using an acrylic stencil. The chalk was too thick to fit in the stencil cutouts, even when fully sharpened. the Bohin mechanical pencil with 0.9mm lead works better for stencils with cutouts to trace. I will likely be able to use this pencil when marking with a ruler or straightedge.

I use this at work. I'm a seamstress and it works great for marking fabrics. You have to be careful of how much a tip comes out. It can barely come out or it will break. Had alot of breaking of the chalk.
