## Description

Safety Technology International, Inc. - STI 6400 Exit Stopper Multifunction Door Alarm. Helps prevent unauthorized exits or entries through emergency doors. If the protected door is opened, the electronic Exit Stopper (STI-6400) emits an ear piercing 105 dB warning horn, which will draw attention in a hurry. When activated, the alarm will continue for 30 seconds, three minutes or continuously (as preset by the user). A key operated override will silence the alarm and allow authorized exits. Another option is annunciator mode, in this mode it announces a doors opening with a set of 10 beeps and then resets. This highly visible “stop sign” design acts as a deterrent, completely self-contained and easy to install. May be mounted on top, right, left or next to almost any door. Exit Stopper is fitted with a long life 9-VDC alkaline battery. It is available in red or green for almost any type of door, mounting or installation. Has a 3 year guarantee against breakage of polycarbonate in normal use (one year on electro mechanical and electronic components). Safety Technology International, Inc. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sti release a newly redesigned exit stopper door alarm on april 2018. is this the newer version?**
A: The newer version STI-6400 2018 to current will have a red table of 8 switches, older models have switches labelled JP

**Q: How is it installed?**
A: Simple, just mount the magnet on the door frame and the main unit onto the doo. When properly mounted and key switch is turned on, the opening of the door will pull the unit away from the magnet that then releases the internal read switch causing the siren to alert. MOUNTINGH: Close the door then mount the magnet on the inside door frame at the opposite side of the hinges (opening). Depending on the conditions, locate the magnet either at the top or side of the door frame near the door's surface but do allow a slight distance from the actual door surface so that it doesn't stop the door from closing. Once it is mounted you will mount the main unit onto the actual door putting the read switch side of the unit so it is very close and lined-up evenly with the top of the magnet's surface. You will need to disassemble the unit so as to mount the unit to the door as well as to insert or change the battery. There are two types of keys for this unit, the metal type key has a fork end on it that fits into the screw head that holds unit together. The gold keys (two) are used to turn on or shut off the unit. You will need to have this gold key available to turn-off the unit or to turn on the unit.

**Q: Alarm goes off even when key is off. What am I doing wrong?**
A: Thank you for reaching out to STI. Unit should not sound after key has been turned to the horizontal "off" position. If this is happening you may want to check the key switch wires are still in the key switch terminal. For further discussion on this please contact me direct Tasha/STI Tech Support/ 800-888-4784 x213. Best Regards.

**Q: Can I order extra keys? We use these in a dorm each summer for a camp and we have lost ours.**
A: I had to order a new one to get the key.
