If you'd buy this as "nail powder", you'd get a fraction of this amount for far more money. So the price is also amazing. Here is my tip for those who struggle: Do NOT mix it into your resin. These flakes do not behave like pigments. It's much better to brush it on the inside of your mould before you pour. Even then, once it's cured, I take a varnish to coat it, and add another layer of flakes, especially to the areas that came out less opaque. Treat this as a finish, and paint it onto your cured piece. This is how I achieved my results. I'm looking for a fine flake. Are these the ones I want?** A: They are all different sizes but they are not what I would call fine. If you have ever seen dry fish food like the flakes that’s what they are about the size of. For fine you may want to try the powder as it is great!!! **Q: What are they made of? Mylar, cellophane, foil or real mica?** A: They are made of real mica. I’m my opinion the powder is much easier to use as static doesn’t effect it as is does the flakes. **Q: My flakes fly all over the place and are super staticky on the paintbrush. Can you recommend a good paintbrush that this won’t happen?** A: If you are using the flakes for an all over cover I usually use a powder brush. If your doing small areas I would use a detail brush and I would mask off what you don't want effected. The flakes will fly no matter what unfortunately.
