XoticRC Booster-V2 Pedal

I've bought and tried probably 20-25 similar low/med gain OD pedals over the last two years.This one is still on my pedal board.Very transparent, lower the guitar volume and it sounds just like not using the pedal at all. Full guitar volume, and it kicks in. You get as much crunch, overdrive, and/or boost as you have it set for. Not super compressed... squashed out sounding. Still retains picking dynamics.Separate Treble and Bass controls work excellent.Volume and Gain controls.Has a switched second Boost/OD channel with gain control that stacks on top for higher gain, more compressed tones.A solid performance for those looking for a LOW GAIN, LOW DISTORTION, overdrive pedal.Metal and shredders need not apply.... Xotic Effects has other boxes for those guys.

Xotic RC booster in my opinion is the pinnacle of clean boost. The options of having bass, treble and gain may this extremely versatile. I have both v1 and v2. When I comes to the gain stage of the V2 I do not find it helpful as it significantly increases the volume and I don't find the added gain effect to be pleasing. Since the V1 is no longer available, this in the only option. If you can find a V1 at a steal I would say you are not missing out on anything by getting that instead. Wish Xotic would make a V1 in a mini pedal.

love it, perfect funk and soul

The first stage of gain (original RC) sounds as you expect the RC to sound. Maybe a tiny bit better? Not sure. The second gain really affects the overall volume (really noticeable bump if you are heading for overdrive, pretty noticeable if you just want a little more gain), and does not actually really help to breakup those tubes. In sum, the 2nd gain is a thicker RC with more volume in my opinion. Would buy it again, simply because the original RC is out of production. Don't really have much use for the 2nd gain stage.

Pedal seems fine but Amazon still hasn't corrected these items. I ordered the guitar version here but I got the bass version. I went by the title and description but was sent the wrong one as in the photograph.

Does seem to add not only boost but something extra that is very nice. Used after a Dumble type pedal prior to analog delay and then verb. Used very clean and hard to tell coloration yet it is doing something that sounds good. Responsive and probably keeping signal hot for other effects and amp. On all the time as are the other pedals. Have changed it only in changing several other pedals for a song in a gig that called for special pedals. Sound I use is pretty clean, sometimes a Klon clone when not using a dumble type pedal and through a Fender tube amp. Worship music primarily. Subtle but works for me and recommended.

I had an original, but it met a horrible end so I got this one that has extended features. I will always have an RC in the chain

Very impressed with this pedal. It provides a very bold/clear boost in sound! Wish the buttons were just a little further apart as I've hit the them both a couple times by accident. As far as sound from this unit though it has far exceeded my expectations.
