It is 1.1” in diameter rather than a typical cane that is 7/8” in diameter.The aiGear hiking staff makes a great cane. It is heavy duty, but if i fall it is strong enough to help me get up, whereas most canes are not (and im only about 200 lb).But the one fault is that it will not stand up on its own. Thats where this gadget comes in. I had to use a hose clamp to get it to stay on the cane.Xx see below! The mfg should either provide a hose clamp, or at least heavy duty (black) wire ties to keep it on the cane. XxUpdate: I looked at my first cane and found that I actually used a large (about a 3/4” or 1”) velcro strap to keep it on my cane.
