I plan to do bead embroidery on them.** A: Snakeskin would be soft enough but the pieces I got were so small they were worthless. I wouldn't recommend buying these scraps. If you want a good product buy just what you know you want and in the amount you will need. I was disappointed with my purchase and it was a waste of money. I hope this helps. If there is a leather shop anywhere near you I would go there in person and see what they have to offer and how much it would cost. **Q: What is the weight or how many mm thick are the pieces? Can you use for making wallets and purses?** A: It was completely random in weight and sizes. A couple of the scraps were big enough to make a wallet but not a purse. Most pieces were smaller and odd shaped. **Q: Would these work for the soles of baby shoes?** A: It's all soft leather.
