I actually look forward to going to bed! **Q: The metal slats are short and fall out easily. Is there a way to keep them from popping out? The rubber gizmos are not much help.** A: The rubber gizmos are meant to keep the bed quite, the metal slats are supposed to be a little short: so you can push them all the way in the rail on one side, get it lined up and then slide the metal slat over to the other side through the rubber.. You just split the difference when you do that. It shouldn’t be super tight fitting and should have some wiggle room. Other wise it would be loud. If that is what you are doing and they are still falling out then contact the manufacturer. I have had this bed for probably 5mo now and I’m still really pleased with it. **Q: Is the walnut dark?** A: ... not too dark. **Q: has anyone had this for 6+ months? does it keep quiet or does it start squeaking?** A: I haven’t had the bed for six months but generally if any metal piece of furniture squeaks or wobbles usually tightening all screws/bolts partially going around the furniture piece a few times until all screws or bolts are snug.
