Instead of the Futur, I would compare Bevel to the Merkur 34c, in that both the 34c and the Bevel are on the mild side and beginner friendly. If you have a course beard, you would struggle to reach BBS with this razor—although it is possible with maybe 3.5 passes, a Feather, and impeccable technique. **Q: Can you use other safety razor blades (non bevel) with this safety razor?** A: Yes you can. I have a super max blue plus blade installed now. Also FYI, depending on what you're used to, the bevel has a pretty descent blade gap. Bigger than an Edwin Jagger 89l for example. Absolutely amazing, flawless. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A much, much better razor than I expected *by K***C on May 1, 2018* I can't even tell you how many single edge razors I own, but it's probably near 50 and I've tried more, and the Bevel has become one of my favorites. It's mild but efficient enough to get the job done with 2-3 passes. I'm prone to ingrown hairs and prefer a mild razor, but my beard is pretty tough and fast growing. If I nitpick the razor, I don't care for the thin smooth handle. It looks nice, but something thicker with some knurling would be more functional. It's the head of this razor that really shines for me. It's not the smoothest feeling, but you know it's working and it's fairly bulletproof. I've been wetshaving for probably at least 7 years, but I would guess that this would be a great razor for a beginner as well. Currently this razor along with the Razorock Mamba are my favorites.
