I use it to mix my powdered eggs...wish it was more powerful but it was inexpensive and works well...I put my BEAKER on it. I like saying the word BEAKER...it reminds me of a certain character on a certain children's show that used to air on PBS. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stir Plate *by D***G on December 27, 2024* Have used this item for several years now making yeast starters for home brewing. Has worked well and met my expectations. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mine needed a drop of glue. *by S***Y on April 14, 2019* Worked as expected out of the box. After some time in storage with the stirring bar held to the plate by its magnetic force, the device then ran with lowered performance and a scraping noise.Opening it, I found that the glue used to hold the internal magnets to their rotating platform had failed on one side and the stirring bar's attraction pulled one internal magnet up from its socket and it was then scraping the bottom of the plate from within. After removing the magnet, I found that the glue was still wet but soon hardened. I presume that the glue used during assembly needs oxygen to cure and was applied and sealed by the placement of the magnet so quickly that it could not dry since leaving the factory till I removed the loose magnet and exposed it to air again. I cleaned up the magnet and socket, applied my own glue, and the device works appropriately again.Mine may be a unique case, but if yours slows down and makes a scraping noise, it may be easily fixed with a Phillips screwdriver and some glue of your own. (Mind the polarity of any magnet removed.
