A: I just did and it wiped right off.

**Q: How big is the hole? Diameter?**
A: It's about 11/3inch.

A: They stay upright.

**Q: Has anyone tried these on standard wooden closet rods?  Do they really stay upright?**
A: I used them on a clothing rack but I do think they would stand up on a wooden closet rod.

The labels go well with my closet design. They are easy to write on, sturdy and easy to put on oval shaped rod. I was able to remove mistakes by using nail polish remover.
