This says extra deep, but also 3.5" (standard industry depth)** A: they are as deep as the standard 4" pot, but only 2.5" square. I start beets and every thing else in them and transplant to a 4" pot. they work great in the 1020 trays **Q: Are these durable?** A: They are more durable than the very thin nursery pots you find at big box stores like 6 pack flowers come in, but not as thick as a quart pot that shrubs come in. They are not good for permanent long term use. I purchased these last season and they sat in the box in my greenhouse all winter. They are still flexible and not brittle. I use them as transisitional pots after tomato seeds germinate until they get large enough for quart or gallon containers. **Q: What is the capacity of these pots? I'm trying to figure out how much soil to buy to fill all the pots** A: They are what I call a medium size. I use them for transplanting my seedlings from their sprouting pots to these. Anything from tomatoes, peppers to the larger herbs such as parsley. As far as how much soil to buy, it will depend on how many plants you will be raising. I do hundreds and am quite happy with these particular pots. If you buy too much potting soil, you can always save the extra for next year. **Q: am I able to get 2000?.** A: I order them by the hundreds and if they hold up I will use them multiple years. If you are selling your plants of coarse this would not be an option.
