Your turtles will probably eat the leaves but that’s fine. The roots are pretty cool. I put one in my fish tank but it didn’t have enough light but they do great in my pond. **Q: Will these plants survive in winter here lot ice cold here** A: No you can bring them in from what I have read. You can put them in a tub for fish tank to keep alive for spring next year.
