Practically, YES! - I am in school for medical coding and we are using Shiland’s “Medical Terminology & Anatomy for Coding” book. I wanted to have cards to flip through every day to help cement the terms I am using but wasn’t sure which set would work best so I ordered a few to look at. Mosby’s was hands down my favorite choice. The cards are divided into prefix, suffix and combining forms with many having illustrations and helpful tips to cement the word / definition in your head. I wanted to figure out how many of the words from the Shiland book are in the flash card set, so I started in Chapter 1 of Shiland and went through my box. By the time I was half way through Chapter 2, it felt like already ⅓ of the words had been covered so I decided to stop. I know a lot of these words have been repeated in future chapters (I’ve gone through eight of 15 chapters of Shiland so far), so I’m comfortable that the Mosby flash cards will cover pretty much every prefix, suffix and word form in the book. I plan to use the Leitner Method when using these cards to study. Review: Best flash cards - When im studying these definitely come in handy!
