## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need a similar coil except over all height is 1.97 inch. ( 2 inch i suppose) 1/2 inch hole. 2 wire 12 volt. dose anyone know where i should look? th**
A: I have seen different size bores while hunting on Amazon. It takes some digging. Don't hesitate to go to the vendor site for more detailed specifications. Length give or take a washer or two is about what you have to work with. I suggest centering coil on the length of the shaft as to engage equally. It won't matter if it rotates a bit but snug works best.

**Q: can anyone give me a height measurement on this?**
A: Overall height on this is 1.466".

**Q: How much current do these 12V 1/2" hole (size 08) coils draw?**
A: I do not know for sure but I am operating two coils on one circut through a single 16ga. wire at intervals of 60 seconds and sometimes longer. I have had no issues with hot wires or connectors. I will say that I pay as much attention to the second wire having good connections and wired back to a good ground prior to having to travel through any greased bushings or otherwise compromised electrical path. Just makes good sense to me. Has been used regularly like this over 6 months and still no sign of any resistance or overloading. Best of luck.

**Q: Will this work for a 12v hydraulic pump for dump trailer**
A: I used this on a lift trailer. It slides over a post on the solenoid and is secured with a thin nut. When supplied with a 12 volt input on one wire, and the other wire back to negative side or ground, it simply becomes an electromagnetic coil intended to pull the internal valve into the needed position. You can ground one wire and supply 12v positive to activate, or supply 12v positive continuously and ground other wire to activate. It will work either way. There is however a recess on one end that is intended to have a thin washer under the retaining nut. A way to test function is either with a volt/ohm meter for continuity and low resistance between wires, or energize the circuit then touch a screwdriver to end of post. It should try to hold on to any ferrous metal. On your dump, it would activate to release hydraulic pressure, leaving the return Closed while no voltage is present. To lower the bed would be a momentary action, so using the electric coil the shortest amount of time would increase its lifespan. Other coils made for Continuous duty are available, but at considerably higher cost due to much bigger windings. I hope this helps.
