## Overview

Salifert Flatworm eXit Aquarium Treatment is a powerful liquid solution designed to eradicate toxic flatworms from reef tanks quickly and safely. Treating up to 300 gallons per 10ml bottle, it activates within 30 minutes and works best when applied to high flow areas to flush out hidden pests. Safe for all reef organisms, it requires careful post-treatment siphoning and activated carbon use to remove toxins, ensuring your aquatic environment stays vibrant and healthy.

## Description

Flatworms can be toxic to reef life if they are allowed to flourish in an aquarium. Once established, they can reproduce quickly and will hide in any crack or crevice that they can find. In order to make sure the solution can work effectively use a power head or other device to flush them out of the hiding places, after which it is recommended to siphon out as many as possible. Flatworm Exit is harmless to all reef organisms, but extreme care must be taken when using this product because of the flatworm's toxic body juice. If the toxic body juice is left unchecked in the aquarium the possible loss of aquatic inhabitants is likely. To prevent this from happening siphon out as many flatworms as possible before treating the tank. After the treatment has been added to the aquarium siphoning as many dead ones as possible will further limit the problems that could arise. Once the siphoning is finished add approximately 1 pound of fresh high quality carbon for every 50 gallons to remove any remaining amounts of toxic juices. It is also wise to have water ready to do a 25% water change if required.

Review: Flatworm exit works - The stuff worked amazingly and quickly was able to follow instructions easily enough. Everything survived in my tank would recommend easy enough to take care of. I attached a small quarter inch tube to a long scraping handle and it was simple enough to suck them out quickly. Now I do a pre-dip with that every time I put new things in with coral. Would recommend.
Review: Works, just follow the directions to a "T" - Worked great for my ghost flatworm outbreak. I think I had some eggs come in on a zoa frag. I dipped it, but the eggs survived. My tank was overrun with flatworms. I added a Springer's damsel, but he could just make a small dent in them population. I tried this stuff, followed the directions to a "T" and had no issues. My corals were pretty mad for a day or so, but everything pulled through just fine. Don't be scared to use it, just have some saltwater on hand for a big water change and a bunch of activated carbon and you are good.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i use this product in freshwater tank?**
A: I had no luck with this in fresh water. Used double the dosage and it completely failed to kill the planaria. A small minority dropped off but most just went on unphased.
On the bright side snails also seemed fine.

**Q: Hi, do you ship to the UK, regards john**
A: Hello, I am sorry we do not ship to the UK.

**Q: How toxic is the flatworm's juice to fish? I have some sensitive fish including moorish idol. Should I be worried about them when using the Exit?**
A: Yes, you should be worried. You cannot know how many worms there are. If you see a lot, imagine 5-10x more in hiding. I lost shrimp, snails, urchins, and fish aren’t well.

**Q: Does this product actually kill the worms or just flush them out of hiding?**
A: Yes it kills the worms. Please follow the directions if you purchase it from us at Aquarium Specialty. Thank you, Scott

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it says, but do not underestimate how toxic the dead worms are.
*by M***N on September 2, 2016*

A cautionary tale. This product does precisely what it promises. And flatworms are toxic when the die. I followed the instructions but underestimated the amount of worms on my rocks. I lost some fish. If you are in doubt, I would recommend pulling the rock and treating them separately in another bucket so that you can quickly get rid of the flatworms. I put the medicine in the tank and it was like a red dotted snow globe. If I ever have to do it again, I will pull the rocks, treat them first. Treat the sump next and finally sand vacuum and clean the display tank. On the plus side it killed every flatworm but did not directly harm anything else in the tank. Just be careful. I lost some fish. And don't think that the skimmer and activated carbon will save you. The skimmer did an amazing job but could not get rid of enough before they affected the tank occupants. Activiated carbon helped but did not save everyone.
