## Description

Caulking knife used to cut old caulk from joints prior to recalling. All steel construction means durability on rough surfaces.

Review: Awesome for home remodeling - I bought this for cutting caulk around trim in home interiors. I've done this job for decades with a utility knife, however this allows for much more force to be applied with much less effort. This tool is very well made and has a very minimal profile for getting into tight spaces. Highly recommended for any remodel work that requires cutting caulk.
Review: Solid tool with no weak points - I'm comparing this knife to the 18" ATD Urethane Cut-Out knife. This review also applies to the 18" Albion Caulk knive, as it is exactly the same as the 12" Albion except for the different flat bar length. The ATD bar is 25% thicker (5/16") than the 1/4" Albion bar. The ATD bar has square corners; the Albion bar has round corners. The Albion bar is welded to the pipe handle. The ATD bar is held inside the pipe . handle with 2 set screws. The Albion blade holder 'post' is more distinct with a better 'fit' into the blade slot. The Albion blade holder screw is the proper type and size, so it fits flush on both sides of the bar. The ATD screw is over 1/8" too long, and the head is 'raised countersunk' instead of 'flat countersunk' like the Albion screw. So the ATD screw sticks out away from the bar on both sides of the bar (the head on one side, and the too long screw on the other). The handle of the Albion knife is different than pictured, and I would say BETTER than pictured. It has a hard orange rubberized coating, I suspect it was applied by dipping the handle into some orange 'rhino liner' type stuff. This gives a good solid gripping surface, instead of just being metal pipe as the picture seems to show. The ATD has a much larger handle, allowing blades to be stored inside the handle. The neoprene 'glove' can be slid on and off, and makes the handle almost too big for comfort. Plus since it can be slid on and off, could perhaps start slipping around in time. And under the neoprene is plain polished metal. Look and Feel: The Albion knife looks and "feels" more 'solid', more like something you'd see a professional using. Like it will stand up better over time and hard use. I own one of each. I will say right now, my ATD is nearly new, and is solid too (I did grind off that screw so at least that side is flush with the bar now).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must have tool
*by T***R on October 16, 2024*

I'd been on the verge of buying this for a while, but couldn't seem to justify the expense at the time. I'm used to using utility and carpet knives to cutout old caulking. Had a job to redo the caulking on the trim of 30 windows, with the old beads all being pretty narrow. This made all the difference. It's sturdy, the screw that holds the blade stayed secure, and the neoprene grip was a plus for me. Wish I'd gotten it sooner and definitely recommend.
