It has plenty of power and works great. Review: Great performance on my 16 foot freighter canoe. I bought a 65Ah battery at Canadian Tire, which let me use the motor for about 2 full hours at full thrust (approx 500lb of load in the canoe, including the canoe itself). I use it for moving from a fishing spot to another. It is very quiet and the 5th speed feels very powerful. On its first use, I did hit a rock on the bottom of the lake (not very far from land) at full thrust and speed, but it did not affect the motor at all. The fin of the bottom the motor casing is very solid and seems to protect the impeller.
