At the time, the safety of my newly purchased phone was an important factor. I looked at video reviews and this came highly recommended. I did not regret my purchase. I only wish that it was available at a slightly lower price. It was retailing at about £35.00 at the time. I have bought other phone holders since, as I have multiple tripods. Some of the lower priced tripods do come with a flimsy phone holder. I would not feel safe using those, in case of damage to my phone. The construction of this product is absolutely solid, using metal as the main material. I also love the knob at the back of the holder that is so tactile and easy to use. You just turn it to get your phone to the desired angle and lock it into place with a turn of the locking mechanism. If somebody requires one phone holder to use, hopefully for years to come, I can think of none better than the Ulanzi ST-27. My Samsung S22 ultra knits Mous case fits and it's 8.5cm wide Yours should fit easily **Q: Will this slot into a dslr hot shoe? So I could attach my phone to this onto the top of my dslr?** A: No it's for arca Swiss so much larger. **Q: Should I get this or a smallrig universal video rig cage?** A: The main difference is that Ulanzi mount is very compact whereas the SmallRig cage is much larger and therefore much less portable. But the cage is more protective and you can more easily attach accessories to it, such as side handles, lights and microphones. There are lots of plastic types of these phone mounts which appear at a price point lower than this one. If you want one that will hold your phone securely it needs to have a strong spring. With a strong spring and a plastic mount, I just felt that with the pressure you need to exert on opening the jaws to hold the phone resulted in a lot of bending of the mount which potentially could end up with it snapping as you try. I looked at this unit and immediately decided that this was a professional unit and would last for ever. It's lightweight, strong and looks beautiful. Its quick and simple to fix to a tripod or monopod and once fixed is as solid as a rock. I'm confident my very expensive phone won't drop off and hit the floor. You have three different screw attachment points which may prove useful and places for adding three extras like lights, microphones etc and its strong enough not to bend with a big video light. You have infinite minute adjustment for angle and it switches easily from portrait to landscape and its easy to keep the horizon straight. Its an excellent unit and worth every penny.
