Mine is! **Q: Is a tp-link controller needed like the ac50 ?** A: This has a built in web interface to be able to configure settings. Please note that you will need a Poe switch or injector as this doesnt come with a power supply. **Q: Will this item work without a Poe injector/switch** A: Sadly not - the PoE: Power over Ethernet interface is required to power the device. This does have the added advantage of being able to install the device in a remote location without the need of a local power supply / socket, it can result in a tidy install with out the need to run additional wires. If however - you have a local power socket then there are many other solutions to provide WiFi access point functionality if you are Ok with the cables. I have installed the Omada controller on a Linux VM so I can use all the APs in a mesh configuration. I don't feel that the system is enterprise-class, but more than adequate for home or small office use.
