The one I bought is gold. It uses the USB for recharge. This light works well in finding pet stains or any other stains in carpet or upholstery which would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye.I'm very happy with it and while it's not something I'm going to be using very often, it does come in handy and I'm glad I have it on hand.One more worth mentioned is that it is adjustable, that means you can adjust the volume of brightness and adjust the range of the brightness.
