In the first three photos the name is carved into a piece of maple that has been laminated to a piece of walnut. The lettering cuts through the maple into the walnut for the stunning effect. The name plate is then trimmed in walnut. The base is made of walnut and is trimmed in maple. The reverse is also available as illustrated in the last three photos.
