## Description

Apevia SFX-AP400W power supply is an excellent choice for compact, small form factor systems. With 400W of steady output power, lots of cable connectors and a built-in 80mm automatically thermal sensing fan it is sufficient and quiet to run a new built system or to replace a lagging/bad power supply in an older small form factor system with a wide range of peripherals and versatile applications. For safety, do not overload, abuse or modify the power supply unit. Use of this unit for Bitcoin Mining is not suggested since it will shorten the life and cause failures of power supply. Use for mining purposes is not covered by warranty.

Review: A for Apevia: Very Good Power Supply 4 Computer Repair, Small Form Factor Desktop - Spent 3 weeks looking for a small form factor power supply unit replacement for an old desktop repair. Old HP Pavillion computer uses a microATX form factor. Depth into the computer chamber has to be less than 4" to fit the cabling to the internal motherboard and hardware. Very, very difficult to locate a microATX for factor. I wanted a price in the $20--25 price range. The Apevia came in high wattage. It has a power switch for on/off, and this is important. It was priced at $30. The quality is good. It looks very nice--comes in all black profile with black covered cables, so sleek and modern. Small size so fits where there is space limits. You will need to buy a adapter plate SFX to ATX. The computer is running, surfing the internet, typing in the review. If I had a similar repair to do, I would buy it again. With a discount code, this is a dope buy. 1 4 4
Review: Working great! - So far it is working great. It is much quieter than my last power supply but not as quiet as I had hoped but still so much better. Update 9/10/2019 - The power supply is still working but now the fan is going out. It is making some very bad noises. Just a few months past warranty so I will probably have to replace the fan myself. I guess you get what you pay for. At least it is still working and as for problems, it is a fairly easy fix. Not going to knock a star off since it did last over a year and is technically still working as is, I just don't trust the fan anymore.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it fit in hp prodesk 400 g4 ?**
A: No. This is an sfx unit for use in sfx, matx,or atx (with adapter). The hp uses a special small form factor slim power supply. Unless hp offers a higher wattage supply. You are out of luck.

**Q: Will it work / fit with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b077rpsmys/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=utf8&psc=1**
A: This power supply has following dimensions:
5 inches long
4 inches wide
2.5 inches high

**Q: I don't see a light indicator when it is plugged in, does it have one or you have to guess if it is working?**
A: There is no light indicator for this power supply model. The way to tell if power supply is turned on is if the power supply fan spins or if your computer boots up after connecting all the cables correctly.

**Q: This is a question for the manufacturer, apevia. have you considered releasing a 500 watt sfx 80 plus bronze certified psu?**
A: They make a 600W, that is barely more expensive than the 400W model

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Third time lucky -- as long as it's new enough
*by B***L on March 7, 2025*

This is the third one of these PSUs I've bought. This one is for an ITX case I bought a while back and wanted to update. Another one is in this silly old Dell by my foot -- it's not the right size, but I was able to secure it and it's working. Not sure where I put the third one. Anyway, for a small power supply they work very nicely, They make plenty of power (at least for any Video Cards you'd be squeezing into a case that needed on of these) Plenty of connectors (almost too many) and nice and quiet. The only way to improve it would be to make at least some of the cables modular - but that would raise the price, and the price is one of the nicest things about this little PSU. Found the other one - it's in a Thermaltake ITX case that could be using a normal sized PSU, so there you go. WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING After further parts swapping, I have found that - for some reason - older motherboards don't like it. A Supermicro Socket 775 was completely dead when I plugged it on - Same with an older Socket 478 Pentium 4 board. Then I plugged it into a N4105 board and it worked absolutely fine. So if you're buying for an older PC, stay away from this.
