I would definitely not call them "heavy" weight - heavy weight in my mind would be more like a skiing glove. That being said, they are much thicker than glove liners. They do the job and keep my hands warm. I love the fact that I got a dozen of them - I tossed several pair in my truck (I used rubber bands to tie pairs together) so I when I inevitably lose one (or a pair), I have extras. A pair in each jacket and I'm good to go.
