The Malibu II Ceramic Mexican Tile Collection is one square foot (nine 4"x4" tiles) featuring beautiful Malibu or Santa Barbara style designs in terra cotta, red, turquoise, and blue colors. Our exquisite raised-relief decorative Prima line provides the highest quality, high fired Mexican ceramic tile in both gloss and matte finishes. These delightful, textured tiles are sometimes referred to as Malibu tile or Santa Barbara tile. Our Prima high-relief tiles are each individually handmade using the ancient Spanish method called Cuerda Seca (Dry Cord). The artist first traces the design onto a blank tile, then painstakingly applies each color of paint using a bulb syringe. Once the design is perfect, the tile is then fired at high temperature to impart strength and durability. tile raised-relief tile is hand-painted by an artist in Mexico.
