What I have done is, I bring the water to a boil and let it boil for about 2 minutes, then remove the pot from direct heat to let the water settle a little bit. Then, add the coffee grounds and let it roast for about 5-7 minutes. Once it’s finished, I remove the pot from the heat and I pour just a bit of cold water down the spout and directly in the center of the coffee. Not much, but less than 1/2 cup should do That settles the grounds to the bottom. Hope this helps! **Q: Is this coffee pot a percolator with a strainer basket etc?** A: No. It would be just for old fashioned boiled coffee. It‘s just the pot and the lid. **Q: What is the diameter of the opening?** A: 3an 3/8.
