Review: Very Impressed - I am thoroughly impressed with this product. The potassium citrate dissolves in water almost instantly upon pouring it in. Little or no stirring is required. It doesn't have much of a taste, so it's not unpleasant to drink in just water. I actually mix it with a Bulk Supplements magnesium citrate which doesn't mix as easily. Even then, it's still palatable. (I chug it down anyway, but it wouldn't be awful if I took my time with it either AND you can mix it in a smoothie or protein shake or whatever.) Against their precautionary warnings on dosage, I use about a teaspoon per day. I've had intermittent problems with cramps in my gastrocnemius and soleus (calf muscles) ever since I was put on a prescription medication called Accutane about 18 years ago. I started running 3 months ago, and the gastroc cramps have occurred in the middle of a run and forced me to limp home the rest of the way, stretching every 20 feet or so. Some mornings, when I first wake up and stretch in bed, the calf cramps will hit me and I just want to scream because my calf muscle(s) start automatically tightening painfully. I use an app to track my diet...calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, nutrients, etc. I paid particular attention to my daily potassium intake, and even with bananas and potassium pills, I was still coming short of the RDA of about 3,500 mg per day. I was lucky to get 2,500 mg/day on my best day. So I decided to give this product a try. I received it earlier this week and I've been on it for about 4 days. I haven't had the chance to run this week, but I'll update this review in the future to let you know if the calf cramps have stopped which I fully expect. UPDATE 09/11/2014: I have not had a calf cramp while running since I began using this product. I haven't tested the effect with stretching upon waking; I avoid plantarflexion during that morning stretch out of fear cramps will occur. But the running is the more functional activity I was having problems with. Now, I don't have that problem. Cause and effect of potassium citrate consumption? I don't know. But I can't think of any other things in my diet that have changed much since I started using it, so I tend to credit the potassium citrate for it. Some supplements work, some supplements don't, some take a long time to realize the benefit. This appears to be one of the few that works immediately. Again, I would highly recommend this product. UPDATE: 12/02/2014: I ordered another package of potassium citrate as my original 250g package is getting low. I am still taking a half a teaspoon to a full teaspoon per day. I have not had calf cramps, not even once, since I started using this product.
Review: GREAT customer service - I used to work out a lot, and got out of the swing of things for about two years. I am 6’2 currently 225lbs. I have recently started hitting the gym regularly and started my supplementation routine up again. I am not a professional bodybuilder, more casual, but I do deem certain supplements to be critical in muscle building and repair. I don’t see the point in investing 2 hours a day 4 days a week at the gym if I am not going to supplement my body accordingly. As someone who has been going to the gym since I was 13, I have seen others work out for years and yet somehow their physique never changes or improves. They may get stronger, but their body literally looks the exact same as it did 2-3 years ago. I have also witnessed many steroid users beef up, and deflate, only to be left with ruined joints, acne scars, a roid gut, and a false sense of dignity. This is what I try to avoid, and why I choose natural supplements. I have tried just about every supplement, done extensive research, and taken note of what actually works and what is simply overhyped BS. I recently discovered Bulk Supplements on desertcart. They have offered me a few samples of products and I have agreed to review a few of their products in return. My supplementation includes: Whey Protein, Casein Protein, Creatine, L-Arginine, Citrulline, L-Glutamine, BCAA‘s(2:1:1), Beta Alanine, Green Tea (ECGC), Calcium Citrate, Fish Oil (Omega-3), Zinc, a multi-vitamin, and Magnesium. These are supplements that have been clinically proven to actually work, and fit in with my goals of replacing a light layer of body fat with lean muscle. My goal is not to gain weight and get beefy, but to be lean and mean, yet healthy. Bulk Supplements Company Review: Fast, friendly, GREAT customer service, willing to give free samples to those who use them, have not had any problems at all with this seller. Product Review: I have gotten all of the supplements listed above from Bulk Supplements except for Whey Protein, and my multi-vitamin. The supplements all come in an opaque, silver, Ziploc bag. I have opted to ditch the bags and use other containers as the zip lock on the bag is sometimes uncooperative. Also, if you buy in bulk, and the bag gets low, you have to reach your whole hand in to the bag to scoop out product. Product gets all over your hand and it can get a little messy trying to scoop it right out of these bags. This isn’t a big deal at all to me; it’s just easier to use a different container with a screw on or lock tight lid. You will also want to pick up a measuring spoon set, as most of the supplements are in powdered form and require a specific dosage. You can estimate using a teaspoon only, but a measuring spoon set is fairly cheap. All of the supplements are clean, pure, and exactly what they say they are on the label. You will need to do your own independent research to determine the dosage of what you want to take, because the bags have recommended ranges of dosages, and not specific dosages listed. So, do your research based on your body weight and type, and figure out the dose you need, and when and how often you need to take it! To summarize, Bulk Supplements is an honest, customer friendly company, with good products to match. I have no complaints about anything.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where is this manufactured?**
A: packaging doesn't say where it was manufactured, only that it is distributed by BulkSupplements.com 7511 Eastgate Rd Henderson, NV 98011

**Q: What is the difference between potassium citrate and nitrate?**
A: Potassium nitrate, KNo3, aka “Salt Peter”, is used to kill tree stumps and is also the main ingredient used to make black powder and smoke bombs. Don’t consume it!

**Q: How many milligrams of potassium citrate is contained in 1 tsp.?**
A: On October 19, 2021 I contacted BulkSupplements regarding dosage and I received the following answer:

Our label states: Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 275 mg (about 1/10 tsp) once daily, or as directed by a physician.
Within the 275mg dosage, you are only consuming 98mg of the elemental Potassium, the remainder being Citric Acid (Citrate).

**Q: is this good for increasing bone density**
A: I have personally dramatically increased my bone density using Naturesway Strontium/D3/K2. I understand Strontium fills in the outside bone caps, not the inside of the bone. The research for K2 seems to be strongest for strengthening the teeth, which is particularly important if you're also taking Fosomax or the like

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Answer to my sore legs!
*by T***R on August 18, 2019*

So I've been working out my whole life and just recently started yoga as well, more specifically hot yoga. Plus, I go into the sauna after workouts at the gym several times/ week too. I am exerting myself and sweating a ton. A week or 2 into adding yoga into the mix, my legs during the evening through the night would not cramp, but tighten... like I wanted to keep stretching them out. This eventually led into effecting my sleep big time, because I'd be waking up several times/ night to stretch out. I thought it was my salt/ electrolyte intake; so I had more and more sea salt.. this didn't help. Then I added in more magnesium... even magnesium oil on my legs, which definitely helped, but maybe around 50% cure. I even went out and bought a bunch of bananas and other veggies/ fruits that had the highest potassium to blend up and drink. This worked a small amount but made me even more full and bloated... as I'm mostly low carb diet. Welcome to potassium citrate! I took 1/2 tsp as soon as I got it and I instantly felt better... muscles felt more relaxed and loose. And, my mental clarity returned, I was at ease. Thinking about it today, exactly 1 week in, I no longer have ANY muscle pain in my legs! I can't believe this simple addition to my supplementation was the missing link. I've been playing sports and super active my entire life and intaking so much sea salt, but no potassium! No wonder why my legs have been so sore all of the time. If you are an active person or more specifically sweating a lot daily, then you NEED potassium. I eat tons of avocado and sweet potato (both are among the highest potassium level foods), and only had a minor effect on relieving soreness or replenishing potassium stores. 100% try this potassium citrate if this is you. Now I take 1/4 tsp on days where I don't sweat much or have light workouts. Days where I'm working out, sauna and yoga too, I'll have 1/4 tsp after my workout and then 1/4 after yoga. I don't think I need more than this, because I do eat high potassium foods too. It really helps with mental relaxation, as well as calming of the nervous system too. Simply put, I love this Potassium! Can't believe I went so long without it all my active life!
