I love that it is double sided so you can switch sides after your baby gets bored with one side. I machine wash mine on a delicate cold cycle whenever it gets dirty and it hasn't changed the fabric at all. I haven't used the strings to tie it to anything but I love that the option is there if I wanted to try it. It sits up on its own but you do have to set it up precariously for it to do so.
