For my Grizzly 1648 I had to use the supplied longer screw to lock it in place on the rail and remove the black plastic pieces used to anchor to the boat. Feels like high quality and much stronger than needed.

I bought several of these so I could attach them to the rail system in my 2024 Ranger vx1788 and mount a bimini top to them instead of drilling holes into my boat (in the event that I wanted to add/remove/or move the top. They were easy to install and they look great!
