## Overview

The GPC-1005B-R Low Voltage Disconnect is a high-precision MOSFET switch designed to protect 12V and 24V batteries by disconnecting loads at customizable voltage thresholds. Featuring 8 selectable settings, automatic voltage detection, ultra-low resistance for minimal power loss, and ultra-low current consumption, it ensures maximum battery longevity even in extreme temperatures (-40°F to 130°F). Ideal for remote or unattended applications, it safeguards your investment by preventing deep discharge and extending battery life.

## Description

GPC-1005B-R is a low voltage disconnect. It disconnects the load if the voltage drops below a predefined threshold. It reconnects the load when the voltage recovers. Ten threshold options set by rotary selector. For 12V battery: 2, 9.3V; 3, 9.7V; 4, 10.1V; 5, 10.5V; 6, 10.9V; 7, 11.3V; 8, 11.7V; 9, 12.1V For 24V battery: 2, 18.6V; 3, 19.4V; 4, 20.2V; 5, 21.0V; 6, 21.8V; 7, 22.6V; 8, 23.4V; 9, 24.2V. When switch is at 0, OFF: Disconnect power from the load. (When rotated to location 2~9, the switch will stay off until reconnect threshold is reached.) When switch is at 1, ON: Connect power to the load if there is no pending fault.

Review: Clear instructions - Works as advertised. Great battery saver.
Review: great battery saver! - This is a great device so far! Have been running it for about three months and it survived sub-freezing temperatures for a few days just fine (as low as 12 degrees Fahrenheit). At a glance it doesn't look heavy duty but it has performed well with my devices pulling a bit over two amps continuously for about three months. After about 10 cloudy days it disconnected my network gear and cameras, and everything restarted once the batteries reached 13v again (I set it to disconnect at 12.1v - setting #9). This is definitely a battery saver for remote/unattended applications. I am running four flooded golf cart batteries and would hate to run them lower than 12v. Update June 2020 - the LVD is still doing great after over 3.5 years. Kept batteries in good shape (batteries are now about 4 years old). I hope to get another couple of years out of the batteries.

## Features

- 8 selectable thresholds for different battery type (AGM, Li-ion, LiFePO4, etc.) and wiring conditions: 9.3~12.0V for 12V battery and 18.6~24.2V for 24V battery
- 20A continuous current in full temperature range -40~130⁰F
- 4.5mΩ ultra-low resistance: Less than 1/10 of power loss compared to competitors
- Automatic 12V/24V battery detection
- Low current consumption: down to 0.26mA with 12V battery

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can three parallel connected 12 v agm batteries be connected to the low voltage disconnect?**
A: i see no reason why they shouldn't the three just create more storage of amps. and the meter controls voltage.

**Q: Is there any circuitry to protect against relay chatter?**
A: The LVD has built-in hysteresis on its thresholds to prevent relay chatter.

**Q: is this even worth it for 1amp device running over night? is this going to add .03a or .003a always or only when current passing through?**
A: I felt it was worth the peace of mind knowing that no matter what I was running I would still be able to start my truck the next morning. It does draw a very small current as long as it is in the circuit - whether a device is running or not.

**Q: Isn't 12.1v too low to turn off my radios in my truck sooner than later? How long would they remain on? Does it matter for a car battery?**
A: A cutoff voltage at 12.1V would be fairly conservative. For a lead-acid 12V battery, when its (open circuit) voltage is 12.1V, the battery is about half-full (state of charge/SOC, ~50%); of course, temperature, battery ageing and other factors would affect the exact charge left. LiFePO4 or LIB would more or less the same. For how long they would remain on, it depends on the battery Ah rating and how much current the loads (e.g. radios) drain, so we could not provide general answer. Many factors will decide if it matters for a car battery. We are at New England, so right now in Jan, I would like a peace of mind to have a 12.1V cutoff so the car can start in the morning. If the user is at a warm area, 12.1V might be an overkill.

Nice product. I hooked it up in my suv to regulate the always on power connector. It will definitely save me from killing the battery.
