The 3rd picture is a transparent plastic cover that comes with it for use in wet or dusty conditions. The 6th picture shows a plastic piece on top to protect from water just in case, but removable for servicing. It is a doable do it yourself job, but I needed alot of stuff hooked up to it and I took it to a local reputable shop to have it installed properly. I love this product. Because of the price I can finally finish my truck with the lighting the way I want it for my needs without breaking the bank. Need to order a longer one because the one provided is not long enough.** A: You can see on the terminal it goes up to 6 gauge, I would assume that it's 8, or 6 gauge. Hard to tell without opening the the sheath and using a wire gauge. It's also CCA (copper clad aluminum), I wouldn't trust it to handle > 40 amps constant load.
