I was impressed with this mic. It had high output much like my Heil PR35 and a pronounced top end to help cut through. My M80 overall seems to capture a wider frequency range but honestly if you're in a rock band I don't think the extra money for the M80 would be worth it. For my music where there are lots of time where my vocals are only paired with a single guitar, the M80 makes a difference for sure.
