I just put this on my sauna floor thinking it was tung oil because it f ing says tung oil on it. But now i have no f ing idea** A: Any container that says Tung oil "finish" is NOT pure tongue oil, but a varnish. the only real question, then, is whether there's a bit of tung oil added to keep it softer than a pure varnish. Any mention of clean up with mineral spirits is a dead giveaway that it's a varnish. **Q: So is this a varnish or is it an oil, and will it work on outdoor eucalyptus furniture?** A: seems more like a varnish than an oil. i didn't like it. **Q: Is this an adequate oil for a danish teak dinner table from the 1950s? It sounds like it is mostly used for outdoors furniture.** A: It's not an oil. I thought it was but it isn't. It's nasty! Very thick and sticky, it's more like a varnish. If you are looking for a traditional rub in oil. This isn't it. Last year, I got some after seeing Minwax brand recommended over others, and I can see why. I thought I'd bought enough to do the job, but ran out around the 75 percent mark and just got whatever brand was available at my local store. That oil didn't even compare. This one coated better, easier coverage, and left the table in great shape to withstand any weather.
