I previously purchased the original Simplehuman Sensor Lighted mirror and LOVED it! Sadly, I knocked it over and broke it, and found no feasible way to replace the mirror, so I ordered this upgraded model. I LOVE the fact that you can control the amount of time that the light remains on (my older one did not have that option and constantly turned off, forcing me to wave my hand to turn it bak on during makeup application). The downside of this upgraded feature is that you have to charge it much more frequently; I just leave mine plugged in continuously, and ever worry about the charge depleting. The other difference between this one and the original, is that this one is taller and does not adjust the same way the orig. did. My orig. unit sat on a shelf, and when I replaced it with the new one, it was too tall, and would not angle down (point down) as much, so I had to adjust the shelf. The removable magnifying mirror is nice, but only "sticks" to the middle of the mirror, which is not optimal for MY needs. I dropped mine and broke it, but simply replaced it with a small suction-cup magnifying mirror that I place at the bottom portion of the mirror front, which I actually like much better. The app is easy to use and allows you to set the the shade of the light (day/night/etc), as well as the amount of time you would like the light to remain on, once activated. The sensitivity level of the light activation feature is perfect; not too sensitive and not too hard to activate. It is even convenient to use as a short-term "night light" by simply waving your hand in front of the mirror/sensor as you enter a dark bathroom. Simplehuman provides a great product with easy-to-use instructions, and most importantly....a reliable product!
