Since it's impossible to get it properly fixed anymore, I was forced to look into 3rd party solutions. Very hesitant to trust them, but I figured if I had to buy a new drive, that I should get the largest one available (500 GB). And it's been working like a charm for a few months now. I've filled about half of it with data, more than I could fit in my previous drive. Every game boots fine. I've not seen any issues with load times, or slowdown while playing.
