She rated this product one star, however, after playing with the system, I did figure out how to program the security system. Now that the system is programmed, the range seems to be descent. One sensor was downstairs and it triggered the alarm that was upstairs. My main concern is my egress window downstairs, so I will be purchasing another unit solely for the basement. The alarm is very loud and I like the flashing light. It will be placed on the window to alert the person who set off the alarm. I hope there are no accidental alarms in the middle of the night. I don't recommend putting it in small child's room, it's just too loud for little ears. I reccomend using ear plugs when programming the alarm. I personally could not find any tutorials on how to program this alarm. And due to the poorly written instructions, it was frustrating to figure out. Once I did though, it is a fairly simple process. I will try and explain my process the best I can.1. Unpackage every piece and lay it out on the counter.2. Match up the sensors. You will notice a red light blink when you match up the connecting sensor.3. Place the main alarm hub in front of you, red light facing down. (I folded up a kitchen towel and placed it over the alarm). Plug in the unit, turn it on.4. I programmed the key chains first. Push the "set" button on the main alarm hub, one time. It will beep and flash a light. Now push the unlock button on your keychain. The hub should beep back at you. Give it a couple of seconds and then push the "set" button again.If you push the button that looks like a bell on your keychain, it should set off your alarm. Be prepared, its loud. But I used earplugs and a towel so it didn't hurt my ears. Push the unlock button on the remote to stop the alarm. If it didn't program, do the process again. Do this for both remotes.5. The sensors are basically the same process. Hit the "set" button once, hold the sensor your programming over the unit. I disconnected the two pieces of the sensor over the main hub, until the main hub started beeping at me. Once the main hub picks up the sensor waves then push the "set" button again. You will know because the unit will beep several times.To test the sensor, put the second connecting piece back on the sensor, push the lock button on your remote and then separate the sensor. If your sensor was programmed, your alarm will go off. To stop the alarm, push the unlock button on your remote.For some reason, the buttons are reversed in my head. I thought you would have to push the unlock button to activate the system and push the lock button to turn it off, but it's actually "lock" to activate it and "unlock" to stop the alarm. I'm a left handed so that might explain why my brain works backwards.Again, if the sensor didn't program, start the process over, a couple sensors took two or three times to program.Your system should be good to go!
