It lathered and really cleaned my hair, a bit of a striped dry kind of clean as bar soaps are known for. Harsher than liquid, but really effective. I like the conditioner too, it takes a lot, and I should have used a little more, but it coats your hair and your fingers can breeze through it without tangles. It's not waxy, it's silky. It feels like normal liquid conditioner and definitely fixes the dry feeling from the shampoo.When my hair dried it had volume, a little frizz on the ends because I probably went a little light on the conditioner- or rinsed it out too thoroughly. My fault not the product. But overall my hair feels normal and smells really nice even after a night of sleep. I was using Matrix Biolage hydra source products before trying this- a salon brand. My hair feels THE SAME with this product. I have fine long hair and I live in a cold climate with dry air. These soap bars are perfect! I think the rose smell is really strong, but not on your head- I mean it's not like I put on perfume (my hair smells delicately). I would love other smells with this same formula too.A side note, I have sensitivity to fruit acids used in beauty products, which is why I went for this. It was the only bar hair care product I could find with fruit or oatmeal (also an allergen for me). It's very mild for sensitive skin and didn't cause a rash or anything. For extra sensitive folks the fragrance might be too much, it is strong.
